Article Marketing.The Basics
always enjoyed writing. When I was younger, I can recall sitting up in my room and writing scripts for T.V. shows that were on at the time, such as ‘Chico and the Man’. Having recently went back and re-read some of them, I was surprised at the quality of the writings. Perhaps I missed my calling in life, but at the age of thirteen I was more interested in having fun and enjoying the creative process, than being concerned about making money with my writings. Nowadays, I no longer dabble with writing scripts and stories, my writing centers more on articles that can actually earn me money through the process of article marketing. This article looks at the basics of article marketing, and shows how anyone can turn simple articles into cash.
In simple terms, Article Marketing is the process of getting your article in as many places on the Internet as possible. While there are numerous ways to accomplish this, one of the most effective is through the submission of an article to Article Directories. The reason this arrangement works so well is because Newsletter and Ezine publishers, website owners, and other interested parties are always looking for new content to post on their sites, and the first place many of them turn to find this information is Article Directories. As a writer, your task is to provide the information that these people need, and in exchange you receive backlinks and traffic to your site. The more places that your articles appear, the more traffic you receive. While this process is commonly referred to as Viral Marketing, I like to call it magic, because once it’s started, it’s nearly impossible to stop.
When it comes to writing and distributing articles, there are a couple schools of thought. One says that you should write as many articles as possible, even employing ‘ghost writers’ to write articles for you. With this method, quantity trumps quality, and your main concern is getting as many articles and backlinks out as quickly as possible. The other approach is to write your own quality articles which attract newsletter publishers, ezine operators and others. While only you can decide what is the best approach to use, I would add that writing your own articles gives you complete control over the content, and allows you to place your name on an article that expresses your own unique thoughts and knowledge.
Once you have completed an article, you then need to distribute it to the Article Directories. What options do you have to achieve this?
1. Submitting Your Article Manually
This is the most time consuming and tedious method of all, and if you’re not careful, you’ll spend more time submitting your articles to directories than writing them. While there are literally thousands of article directories on the Internet, my suggestion is to focus on the major directories; these are directories with a huge readership. You can find out which one’s are the most popular by simply doing a search with the words, ‘best article directories’. While space prohibits me from listing them all, some that I consider must do are ‘Ezine Articles’, ‘Go Articles’, ‘Article Dashboard’, Idea Marketers’, SearchWarp’ and ‘ArticlesBase’.
2. Using Article Submission Software
Article Submission Software is supposed to automate many of the functions of article submission such as filling in forms. etc. However, my experiences with Article Submisssion software left a lot to be desired. A few of the problems that I encountered with it were having numerous sites listed in their directory that were no longer in business, many sites not loading, and having your articles submitted in the wrong categories. In the end, I had to go back and ‘cut and paste’ most of my articles into the directories which sort of defeated the whole purpose of why I purchased the software in the first place. While I would imagine that there are in fact article submission software that actually does what it claims, I would urge diligent research before purchasing this type of software.
3. Article Submission Services
Another option that you can use to distribute your articles is Article Submission Services. The reasoning behind using a article submission service is that you will get your articles distributed much faster because of their large network of contacts such as Newsletter and Ezine publishers. As mentioned previously, these publishers are looking for valuable content and they rely upon places such as submission services to obtain it. It’s a real win-win situation for all concerned. I currently use a submission service and it seems to working very well for me in that I have noticed a big increase in my backlinks since I started using them. If you are a busy person(who isn’t)this might be a good option for you.
Article marketing can be a great way to get the word out about yourself and your business. While there are several ways to accomplish this, by consistently submitting your articles to various article directories, you will see an increase in your traffic, and most likely your profits.

Internet marketing can seem mystifying not only for beginners, but for moderately skilled internet marketers. Unfortunately, and this is perfectly true, most of the advice or “expert” tips are outdated or completely false. Since anyone can publish on the internet, you have a mixed bag of good information followed with much more bad information.
The mysticism of internet marketing is created largely by this glut of some good and mostly bad information. It makes the whole topic SEEM like rocket science when, in fact, much of what was true about internet marketing years ago is true today.

I guess there is truth in that statement. Average people do in fact quit this business before they ever get started because average people fall for tricks and schemes that above average people avoid on their way to success.
If you have read this far, you are probably in the above average category. Why? Because average people would have taken one look at the list of things I mentioned that are the bread and butter of internet marketing and saw nothing but hard work. And they’d be right!
Above average people don’t shy away from work though. I don’t know a single soul (and my rolodex has some of the biggest names in internet marketing in it) who got where they are today without a lot of hard work.
You can succeed in internet marketing if you are not afraid to work, and not constantly tempted by those who say you can succeed without it!
Focus on the basics of internet marketing and stay with them as you try new strategies. We all experiment. But successful internet marketers never leave their bread and butter tactics behind unless they cease to be effective.

Recently they have taken these campaigns online as a quick and cost effective way of getting peoples opinions. They hire market research companies to conduct the surveys and the market research companies pass some of the money along to you and I as an incentive for filling out surveys.
I heard that if you sign up for paid surveys you’ll get lots of spam.
It’s true that some of the sites will re-sell your email address, but these are usually the middleman sites that want you to register with them to get access to a list of the legitimate survey sites. The actual market research companies who are paying you to take their surveys will never re-sell your personal information, including your email address. In fact, some of them such as Greenfield online are publicly traded on the stock market. How much more legitimate can you get? If you still have questions read each companies privacy policy. It should give you a good indication of whether or not you can trust them.
Is it necessary to pay someone to get a list of paid survey companies?
No, you should never have to pay for this information, it is freely available on the internet. It’s a shame that some sites try to take advantage by taking payment for the information, and I think these types of sites have contributed heavily toward the negative perception of paid surveys. Never pay for a list of survey companies. If you do a bit of searching you should easily find a free source of paid surveys.
Can I get rich by taking paid surveys?
You won’t get rich and how much you’ll make depends on a lot of factors, but I feel it is safe to say that many people can easily make several hundred dollars each month with a small investment in time. Of course how much you make will depend on several factors including your own personal information, how many companies you register with, where you live and how reliable you are in responding to surveys that are sent to you.
How does this whole thing work?
Each market research company works a bit differently, but in general it is like this. First you register and give them some basic information about yourself. After registering you can log into your account at their website and fill in additional more detailed profile information. This helps the survey researchers match you with appropriate surveys. When a survey that matches your profile becomes available you will get an email with a link to the site you need to go to participate. Each survey pays differently usually from $1 to $75 and can take as few as 2-3 minutes up to 30 minutes. The email will usually state how much the survey pays.
What will I get for taking online surveys?
There are a whole bunch of incentives ranging from gift certificates, to merchandise like small electronics or appliances to sweepstakes entries to good old fashioned cold cash. Many of the sites require a minimum amount in your account before they will pay you (like $20) which isn’t bad if you think about it. Usually the minimum payments are pretty easy to reach anyway.
So then is it worth it for me to take surveys for cash?
I believe it is worth it, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this today. It is fun and so easy, plus there is no risk involved like other online money making schemes out there. With just an hour or two a day you can make a decent part time income all from the comfort of your home. Plus I like getting the chance to review products and service before they become publicly available.

As long as you have realistic expectations for them then paid surveys can be a fun and easy way to make some extra money in your spare time. Okay now once you have both things ready you need to upload wordpress to your hosting account, If you bought hosting with hostgator you can install wordpress with a click of a mouse :) by just going to cPanel -> Fantastico -> Wordpress If your hosting provider doesn’t provide fantastico you can download wordpress from wordpress.org
Now once you have installed wordpress, Think of a niche and complete rest of the installation, Once you get everything ready its time to setup automation, In this method we will be grabbing posts from RSS, So find a good RSS source using a RSS Directory.
The Duplicate Content Myth
A lot of people here would raise a question that duplicate content is bad and results in a penalty from search engines, You might have seen on few forums people fighting over this issue, We’ll thats a myth and many webmasters have proven it.
You can get articles from article directory or directly from other’s blog directly.
I’ve myself tested this method before writing this report and I’d like to share results with you guys..
I bought a .com domain and chose health as my niche, I took from good RSS links from RSS directories. I decided to go with Adsense and after installing google ads on my blog it was ready, It was updating itself and around 5 articles were being added to the blog everyday.. First two days I got nothing then I started to get impressions and clicks on my google ads, and within a week I was able to make $17 from the blog. $17 in 7 days a’int that bad after all everything is on autopilot! :D
Okay, so coming back to our main topic again.. Once you have everything ready you just need to install a good and professional theme to your blog and couple of plugins
1) WP-O-Matic - This is the main plugin, it will help you grab posts from RSS links which you will provide and will post them on your blog! You will have to setup a cron-job in your cpanel for this plugin to work, but if you get stuck you can use Feed Wordpress which will make it more easier.
2) GoCodes - GoCodes is a plugin to redirect common phrases to affiliate links (for example, on a weight loss blog, you could redirect how to lose weight to a product like Fat Loss 4 Idiots) So you can use this to link phrases to your affiliate links :)
3) Google XML Sitemap - You can use this plugin to make a sitemap of all urls on your blog then submit it to Google Webmaster Tools, so that google can keep a track of all urls in your blog and index them.
Lastly, Change your permlink to common structure /%postname%/ and finally update your .htacess file.
Next step is the ping list and the RSS feed directory submissions.
You can submit your own RSS feed of the blog to a List of 50 RSS Directory so that you can get more traffic and you can get indexed in search engines quickly.
Now, Go to Wordpress Admin –> Settings –> Writting and copy this ping list there
