Also try and write your content for the people in the area you are targeting, not every English speaking country uses the same phrases or slang. Another way of making sure your site is locally targeted is by submitting your site to Google webmaster tools and using the settings to select the country your site is targeting, this is very effective and you should see results within the first month.
